Part-time Forest Nursery

A new program in the Riverview neighborhood to take advantage of our fabulous green spaces and raise children who are connected to the land and prepared to be stewards of our neighborhood.

Our Part-time Forest School program offers a morning (9:00-12:00) and afternoon class (1:00-3:30), Monday to Friday. We run year round with seasonal breaks in Winter, Spring and Summer. This program is completely outdoors (with indoor space available when weather is hazardous).

We are currently registering for Fall, 2026. if you're interested you can add your child to our Waitlist.

What is a Forest School?

Forest and Nature schools are place-based and play-based programs that take place in natural settings (forests, fields, beaches, tundra) all over the world. These programs are designed to be completely outdoors in all weather and build on the natural world, weather and turning seasons to inform their curriculum.

Our curriculum is play-based, place-based, and emergent.

Costs

Our Forest Nursery School is a newly licensed program with a waitlist for new children. Fees are $8.40/day per child.

Yearly Calendar

Open all year, we break during the winter (3 weeks), spring (2 weeks) and summer (4 weeks) and are closed on WSD1 inservice days.

Location

Our main site lies between Churchill Drive and the Red River, along the community gardens. It's accessible by transit, car, and bike.
